Mid Sussex Liaison Group

The Mid Sussex Liaison Group works in Mid Sussex to promote networking, exchange of ideas and mutual support in the voluntary and community sector in Mid Sussex. We hold networking meetings for the voluntary and community sector 3 or 4 times a year, and often invite speakers to talk about topical issues.

The partners in the Mid Sussex Liaison Group are:

  • West Sussex County Council
  • Mid Sussex District Council
  • AirS (Action in Rural Sussex)
  • NHS West Sussex

Networking meetings are open to groups which are members of East Grinstead CVS or Mid Sussex (South) CVS. Mid Sussex Liaison Group networking events are held in different venues across Mid Sussex.

Representing the Voluntary and Community Sector


East Grinstead CVS acts as the voice of the local voluntary and community sector when talking to statutory bodies. It reflects the views of its member groups, and passes information to the sector from statutory organisations. It represents the voluntary and community sector in the following forums:

  • Healthy Mid Sussex
  • Mid Sussex Health and Wellbeing Forum
  • Public Engagement Committee of Queen Victoria hospital
  • Mid Sussex Partnership
  • West Sussex Cooperative
  • West Sussex ChangeUp Consortium (through other West Sussex CVSs)
  • Many other informal and ad-hoc forums and meetings

 

Working in Partnership with other CVSs

East Grinstead CVS works particularly closely with Mid Sussex (South) CVS. We produce a joint quarterly Newsletter, attend each other's committee meetings and work together on other joint projects.

East Grinstead CVS is part of the West Sussex CVS Training Group; running courses for the voluntary and community sector in West Sussex. The partners in this training consortium are

Our previous training programmes was subsidised by funding from the Big Lottery through two different projects - the Embedded IT Training Project (SCIP and WTP) and the Learning4Counties project (Surrey Community Action and Action in Rural Sussex). Go to our Training section for more information.

East Grinstead CVS works very closely with all the other West Sussex CVSs on joint projects such as the Countywide Volunteering Consortium.
